Charlie Odell Hollaway, 84, of Livingston, Ill., died at his residence in Livingston on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2024. He was born Nov. 11, 1939 in Pocahontas, Ark., the son of the Late James G. Hollaway and Gracie (Rowe). He married Doris Lynn (Scroggins) Hollaway of Livingston on July 22, 2006 in Worden and she survives.
He was a Forklift Operator at Georgia-Pacific in Mt. Olive for 44 years before retiring in 2007. He was an avid bowler and fisherman. He loved baseball as well as the St. Louis Cardinals. Charlie was also a member of the Livingston Lions Club.
He is survived by his two daughters, Laurie Howell, Collinsville, and Judy Kirksey, Staunton; two sons, Charles Hollaway, Missouri, and Jason Boeck, Kansas; brother, Leon (Sonaj) Hollaway, Mt. Olive; three step-children, Art (Jennifer) Barnes, Ferguson, Mo., Charlotte Barnes and Billy Barnes, Livingston; son-in-law, Mike Schaefer, East Alton, Ill .; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Louise Pollard; first wife, Willie; step-daughter, Mary Schaefer; as well as everal brothers and sisters.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2024 at Williamson Funeral Home located in Staunton. Pastor David Lindgens will be officiating and Williamson Funeral Home of Staunton is in charge of the arrangements.
