Eichen

Charles Kenneth Eichen, 98, of Carlinville, died at Lakeside Health and Rehab Center in Carlinville on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2024. He was born Aug. 1, 1926, in Polk Township the son of the Late Frederick Eichen and Grace Louise (Douglas) Eichen. He married Stella Marie (Barnett) Eichen on Feb. 11, 1951 at Memorial Christian Church in Carlinville and she preceded him in death on Sept. 17, 2004.

He retired after having been a farmer and owner of Eichen Lumber Co. Charles was a veteran of the U.S. Army after having served during WWII. He was a member of the American Legion, Carlinville Masonic Lodge and Order of Eastern Star located in Plainview.

He is survived by his children, Katherine Witt, Carlinville, Deborah (Gary) Pellizzaro, Ponte Vedra, Fla., Cheryl (Jim) Madson, Lewisville, Texas, Mike (Lisa) Eichen, Carlinville, Patricia (Randy) Simpson, Farmington, N.M., Carol (Dan) Wills, Carlinville, Stephen (Margaret) Eichen, Plainview, Barb (Paul) Lebro, Plainview, Tommie Eichen, Carlinville, and Timmie Eichen, Carlinville; 16 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Imogene Emery, Carlinville. Charles was preceded in death by his grandson, Michael Wallis; great-great-granddaughter, Adeline; and three brothers.

Visitation and Masonic services were held on Monday, Aug. 12, 2024 at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Carlinville. Visitation and Funeral services were also held on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2024 at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Carlinville and interment was held at Moore Cemetery. Kravanya Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
