Cavataio's Restaurant In Staunton Reopened With New Ownership And Hours

Cavataio’s Restaurant and Pizzeria will reopen Thursday, August 1, 2024 with new lunch hours as the next generation of family transitions into ownership. Angela Cavataio, daughter of Vince and Cathy Cavataio, proudly carries on the tradition established by her family over several decades.

Since 1988, the restaurant has been a part of the Staunton community making fresh pizza and pasta for generations of families to enjoy. Their unique flavored dishes are a local tradition that continues as the restaurant transitions to the next era of ownership.

“As the new owner, I’m excited to continue our longstanding traditional pizzas and pastas along with trying new dishes brought back from our family in Sicily,” said Angela. “Expect to see new specials throughout the coming year, and if popular, being added to our regular menu.”

Lunch size portions of salads and pasta will be available along with the traditional sandwiches. “I really look forward to opening for lunch once again. We’ll have our Chef, Cobb, and Caesar salads along with our full flavored pastas and sandwiches available for dine in or carry out.”

Expect half size pasta dishes from the traditional spaghetti with meatballs to ziti marinara with eggplant. Sandwiches, such as Sicilian beef, Italian sub, and grilled chicken will include side options of pasta salad, specialty soup, small Caesar salad, or a small Cobb salad. The full menu will also be available for those wishing for a heartier meal throughout the day.

“Our menu gives the rustic charm of Italian tradition with fresh, bold flavors that define our family heritage. I am honored to be able to carry on the traditions,” added Angela.

The new hours will be Thursday through Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The restaurant will be closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
