Matesa

Cheryl Ann Matesa, 69, of Benld, formerly of Staunton, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2024. She was born Dec. 30, 1954 in Litchfield the daughter of the Late Arthur W. and Dolores (Homeier) Eickmeyer. She married David P. Struebig on Feb. 24, 1973, and they later divorced. She then married Robert Matesa on March 23, 2002, blending their families.

Cheryl worked as a Bank Teller in Staunton. She was a member of Staunton's Zion Lutheran Church and New Horizon Band of Godfrey, Ill.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Matesa; five children, Chad (Julie) Matesa, Kristina May, Joe Matesa, Stephen (Teresa) Struebig, and Cary (Jason) Foulk; seven grandchildren, Janie Milkovich, Michael Matesa, Zachary May, Stephen May, Olivia Matesa, Isabella Foulk, and Jacob Foulk; four great- grandchildren, Carson and Chase Milkovich, Blaykelynne and Xander May; one sister, Ruth Ann Kilduff; nieces and nephews also survive. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Bruno Kilduff; and one niece, Michelle Kay Matesa.

Friends may call Zion Lutheran Church in Staunton. from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2024. Memorial services will follow at Zion Lutheran Church in Staunton, with Rev. Phil Girardin officiating.

Memorials are suggested to either Zion Lutheran Church of Staunton or New Horizon Band of Godfrey, Ill.
