Massey

Fern Amellia Massey, 82, of Eagerville, formerly of Worden, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024. She was born March 20, 1942 in Highland, the daughter of the Late Clarence and Alberta (Otto) Hoffman. She married James Massey and he preceded her in death in Jan. 1970.

Fern was employed as a Dietary Aide at Edwardsville High School in Edwardsville. She was a member and confirmed at Salem United Church of Christ in Alhambra. She enjoyed cooking and baking and adored her grandchildren.

She is survived by three sons, Gary (Candy) Otto, Mt. Olive, Jim Massey, Alhambra, and Greg Massey, Worden; one daughter, Sue (Roger) Cartwright, Eagerville; twelve grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grendchildren (due in Nov.); one brother, Edwald (Lynn) Hoffman, Troy; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, David Massey; great-grandson, Blake; one sister, Frieda Hoffman; and two brothers, Edward and Fred Hoffman.
