Alhambra's 175th Birthday

The Village of Alhambra, Illinois was founded in 1849 and will be celebrating its 175 year old Anniversary and Homecoming. From Friday, Aug. 2 through Sunday, Aug. 4, the festivities will include parades, live music, food and beverages, old fashioned games, a vendor fair, raffles and attendance prizes, a fashion show, fireworks, and much more for everyone in the family to enjoy.

On Friday, Aug. 2: Food stands will be selling burgers, fish, chicken, fries and more; a beer and soda stand; bounce houses will be filled with air and ready to be jumped on; and the band will begin at 6:30 p.m.

On Saturday, Aug. 3: Food stands will be selling burgers, fish, chicken, fries and more; a beer and soda stand; at 1 p.m. the Kids Pedal Tractor Pull will begin; and fireworks will be let loose into the sky around dusk.

On Sunday, Aug. 4: considered as "Sunday Funday" has different festivities planned for the day:a Church by Restore Christian Church is scheduled for 10 a.m.; during the day, there will be a cake walk; old fashioned games for adults and kids; a beer and soda stand; Tracy Travis will be performing live music; and a vintage Fashion Show will kick off at 1 p.m. while food will be provided by M&K BBQ and T-Mo's Tacos.

Events and activities are available to the public for all three days. By showing up, there is a chance to win prizes from a vendor fair; raffles and silent auction; and the Alhambra History Museum will be offering its services for a $2 admission fee.

The International Harvester Club Chapter 32; John Deere Club of Lebanon; other gas engine and tractor collectors or clubs will be present. The History of Alhambra Museum and Local Model Train Collectors will be in the Firemen's Hall.
