To You … With Love,

By Avis Richardson (Retired Reverend)

"Christmas en Bal"

A crisp wind blowing in my face, the tender touch of a warm soft scarf offering some protection from a December day. The joyful songs of the cantata at St. Paul still holding my mind close to the sounds of Christmas become a fireside moment for my soul when I feel the presence of the Son of God taking hold of the world again.

It astonishes me to see what power and glory the coming message of the Savior still has to grip the heart of men. To each of us there is a new invitation to come and see what God has done. To each of us there is a message sent in flesh, reminding us that Emmanuel is more than a name. To each of us He is the gift from the Father, delivered from the glorious kingdom. A swaddling bundle of salvation, tied with ribbons of grace and carried on holy wings to the children of men.

Surely, it should be received with great joy for the Almighty knew what we all needed for Christmas, just a baby thing, wrapped in garments of love and just the right size, so no one would ever fear God again.
