The 11th annual Tour de Donut bicycle race was held July 17 in Staunton with a record 388 bicyclists participating.

A.A. and Dorothy Ross announced plans to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on July 24.

Shirley M. Kuethe (70) of Staunton died July 15 at Community Memorial Hospital in Staunton.

Mary Magdeline Karlovic (91) of Mt. Olive died July 16 at Litchfied Health Care Center in Litchfield.

Staunton is to receive $1.07 million in grant funds for infrastructure improvements and to resurface Main Street.

A storm dumped more than four inches of rain on the Staunton area Wednesday morning causing flooding across much of the city.
