Whitten

Cheryl Ann Whitten, 66, of Hillsboro, died at her residence on Sunday, July 14, 2024. She was born Feb. 2, 1958 in Hillsboro the daughter of William “Bill” and Theresa (Jagosh) Whitely. William preceded her in death on May 12, 2011 and mother survives in Hillsboro. She married Mike Whitten on Feb. 26, 1977 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hillsboro and he survives.

She graduated from Hillsboro High School with the class of 1976. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro and she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially, her grandchildren. She had worked at McFarlin Medical Clinic in Hillsboro and then she retired from the City of Hillsboro in Aug. 2014.

She is survived by her two daughters, Amy (Ron) Maedge, Staunton, and Mary (John) Battuello, Hillsboro; grandchildren, Landon (Grace) Maedge, Kinslee Maedge, Briar Maedge, Scarlett Battuello and Leo Battuello; two brothers, William “Billy” (Lori) Whitley, Seattle, Wash., and Michael (Jennifer) Whitley, Anamosa, Iowa; several brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, and nephews also survive.

Visitation services will be held from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro on Saturday, July 20, 2024 and Funeral services will follow at the Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsboro on July 20. Interment will be held at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsboro and Rev. Joe Lawson and Rev. Michael Plummer will officiate.
