Turner

Denny (McAfoos) Turner, 88, of Bunker Hill, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024. She was born Jan. 19, 1936 in Alton, Ill., the daughter of Herbert McAfoos and Lucille (Cole) McAfoos and they preceded her in death. She married her spouse of 69 years Cecil M. Turner of Bunker Hill on March 12, 1955 in Alton and he survives.

She graduated from Alton High School in January with the class of 1955. Not only was she a wonderful wife, Denny was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. Denny was a faithful believer of Jesus Christ as her lord and savior. She spent many years in child evangelism, teaching children the path to becoming a Christian.

She is survived by her two children, Carey (Mike Tomlanovich) Eveans, Englewood, Fla., and Tabitha (Jim) Golike, Lake of the Ozarks, Mo .; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Lauren (Tom) Miller, Godfrey; brother, Wendell (Sue) McAfoos, Alton; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Denny was preceded in death by her children, Cole and Kim Turner; grandson, Cole Brandon Turner; sister, Sue LaMarsh; brothers, Ollie McAfoos, Dwight McAfoos, Bill McAfoos, Stan McAfoos and Allen McAfoos also survive.

Visitation services will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Kravanya Funeral Home in Bunker Hill and Funeral services will follow. Interment will be at Woodburn Cemetery in Woodburn, Ill. Kravanya Funeral Home of Bunker Hill is in charge of the arrangements.
