Pop Party At Carlinville Library

The Summer Reading Program at the Carlinville Public Library has, once again, been an overwhelming success this year. It will also end in a big way.

The library is hosting an After-Hours Pop Party on Friday evening, July 19 from 5-7 p.m. to celebrate the end of the program. Everyone is invited to join this special, fun event.

“Like all good things, the Summer Reading Program must end,” laughed Hannah Miller, the director of the Carlinville Public Library. “But why not go out with a POP!”

The evening will feature crafts, snacks, and activities that all have a “pop” theme, including balloons, bubble wrap, popped snacks and pop music. Participants are advised to bring their sunscreen, since the event will be held outside.

An end-of-summer scavenger hunt will also be held. The winning tickets will also be drawn for one of the grand prizes this summer, tickets to a St. Louis Cardinals game. All other grand prize winners will be pulled on August 1, as originally planned.
