Craddick

Betty Jean Craddick, 88, of Benld, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024. She was born June 7, 1936 in Gillespie to Jeanie Steed and she preceded Betty in death. She married Harry Craddick on Sept. 25, 1954 at the Gillespie Methodist Church and he survives.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed anything involving her family especially doting on her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-children.

She is survived by her two sons, David (Betty Lynn) Craddick, Litchfield, and Robert (Anna) Craddick, O’Fallon, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Spitznagel, Litchfield, Michael (Tanya) Craddick, Glen Carbon, Bradley (Rachael) Craddick, Edwardsville, Timothy Craddick, O’Fallon, Ill., Michelle (Derek) Petrich, O’Fallon, Ill., Lindsay Craddick, O’Fallon, Ill., and Jennifer (Alex) Scherschel, Richmond, Va.; great-grandchildren, Tanner (Samantha) Roeske, Litchfield, Casey Roeske, Litchfield, Hailey Robbins, Litchfield, Christina Craddick, Glen Carbon, Nora Craddick, Edwardsville, and Graham Petrich, O’Fallon, Ill.; great-great-grandchildren, Cruze and Jami Roeske, Litchfield; as well as other extended family.

Betty was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Steed; sister, Gladys O’Connell; and great-grandchild, Angelina Craddick.

The family wishes to thank Mary Cunningham for her invaluable dedication to Betty over the last several months; Kathy Hausman and the staff at Home Instead, as well as Vitas Healthcare.

Friends may call Kravanya Funeral Home in Benld from 9:30 a.m. until Noon on Saturday, July 13, 2024 and Funeral services will follow at Kravanya Funeral Home in Benld. Interment will be held at the Benld City Cemetery in Benld.

Memorials are suggested to Benld United Methodist Church, located at 209 S. Main Street in Benld, as well as the Gillespie Area Caring Center located at100 S. Macoupin Street in Gillespie.
