Voting Plan Postcards: Options On Receiving One Are Available

With the Presidential Election just under fout months away now, later this summer, state law requires the Election Office mail all registered voters a voting plan postcard. But Macoupin County Clerk Pete Duncan says that voters have options on receiving one.

State law requires all voters not on the permanent vote by mail list to be mailed a postcard application to join the list if they desire to do so. In Macoupin County, the postcard has been expanded to include additional election information to remind voters of their polling place on Election Day, in person early voting opportunities, and include vote by mail applications.

Duncan said that starting this year, those voters who do not wish to receive a postcard can write in and opt-out of receiving a card. Duncan is also encouraging those who may want to receive the voting plan reminder but wish to save some county tax dollars can sign up to receive this same information, but sent to their email address by providing their preferred email.

Voters wishing to choose a different option can either visit http://www.macoupinvotes.gov and click ‘Voting Plan Card Options’ under ‘What’s New’ or they can write in with their name, address, which option they are choosing, and email [email protected].
