Local Staunton Student Received Medical Scholarship From Community Hospital

One of the rewarding things about being a community hospital is getting the chance to “give back” to the community.

Anderson Hospital medical staff does that every year through the scholarship program they created for area students seeking education and careers in healthcare.

This year, a total of seven students earned scholarships worth $1,500 each, including one of Staunton's own:

Mackenzie Sievers of Staunton - University of Illinois College of Medicine, Medical Doctor;

Jaelyn Camden of Carrolton - SIUE, Nursing;

Courtney Garrison of Collinsville - Maryville University, Family Nurse Practitioner;

Virginia Glassbrenner of Alton - Lewis and Clark, Nursing;

Dane Henderson of Troy - St. Louis University, Nursing;

Kalysta Hyre of Highland - Maryville University, Doctor of Physical Therapy;

And lastly, Blake Renken of Troy - University of Kansas Medical Center, Doctor of Physical Therapy.
