During the city council meeting on Monday, July 8, the city council highlighted the annual ‘Tour de Donut,’ race this Saturday, July 13, 2024. It is said to be a pretty good day for the race.
The motion has been approved to close the following streets for the ‘Tour de Donut’ race this Saturday, July 13. From the times of 6 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Montgomery Street From Easton Street, Ash Street (including all intersections) and all of Park Lane. From 8:50 a.m. until all ‘Tour de Donut’ riders have passed to close Main Street from Easton Street to Union Street, and Union Street from East Main Street to East Leonard.
An advertisement has been placed for more volunteers to help during the ‘Tour de Donut.’ These volunteers would stand at street corners for the stop signs for roughly half an hour. To volunteer, the signup is at Sullivan’s.
The motion has been approved to purchase an agreement from Alaska Structures of a 30’ x 20’ tent for tourism events in the amount of $6,775.00.
In Utilities and Water, the city council approved the motion to proceed with construction of the Herman Route #7 Mine Lane Water Main Extension Project in the amount of $280,00.00 as budgeted.
The city council approved the motion to proceed with construction of Albrecht Road Water Main Extension Project.
In Street and Sewer, the city council approved Quote #: 1005330 from Martin Equipment for a new Backhoe Loader Bucket in the amount of $3,620.00.
In Judiciary, the council approved Ordinance #2245.An Ordinance to install stop signs on Reservoir Road at its intersection with the Northern Entrance to Woods Mill Drive.
Those present for the meeting were Mayor Craig Neuhaus, City Clerk Dennis Stiegemeier, Aldermen Ryan Machota, David Manning, David Dias, Terry Tipler, Kristy Berg, and Matthew McKee and Police Chief Joe Doerr. City Treasurer Cindy Pirok and City Attorney Phil Lading was absent.
The next City Council Meeting will be on Monday, July 22, 2024, at 7 p.m.
