Ziglar

John F. Ziglar, 62, of Savannah, Ga., formally of New York, N.Y., and Staunton, Ill., passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024. John was born in Staunton to Fred and Domiene Ziglar and they preceded him in death.

He graduated from Staunton High School with the class of 1981. After completing business school, he eventually moved to Brooklyn, N.Y. John worked for many prestigious law firms and companies in Manhattan, N.Y. His final position while there was Accounting Manager for the multimillion-dollar company For Kids Inc., which is responsible for Super Mario and Pokémon.

In 2013 he moved to Savannah, Ga., where he created his dream yard full of palm trees and tropical plants. Briefly, but valiantly, John fought against Melanoma. He made it his mission to greet every person he met with a warm smile and a kind word.

John is survived by his brother, Frederick “Rick” Ziglar; two sisters, Maya Ziglar and Angie Hayes; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his sister, Cindy Marsh.

No public services will be held. There will be a small, private gathering at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded and his ashes will be spread in his beloved Atlantic Ocean.

Donations may be given in his name to any animal rescue charity. Those wishing to celebrate John's life, he requested they listen to Ave Maria and The Our Father song, or anything by Olivia Newton John.
