Scroggins

Nancy J. Scroggins, 76, of Bunker Hill, died at La Bella in Alton on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. She was born May 12, 1948, in Alton, the daughter of Lylburn Cagle and Josephine Glass Cagle Bewig and they preceded her in death. She married Randolph David Scroggins of Bunker Hill on June 17, 1967 at the First Congregational Church in Bunker Hill and he survives. She was a school teacher. Nancy was a member of the First Congregational Church of Bunker Hill, Bunker Hill Library Board, Bunker Hill Beautification Committee and the Alton Teachers Union. She enjoyed birds, sewing, cooking, flowers, gardening, playing the organ and the piano. She is survived by her two children, Amanda (Nick) Rawdon, Easton, Ill., and Andrew (Heidi) Scroggins, Chicago, Ill .; three grandchildren, Ashlyn Rawdon, Jordyn Rawdon, and Clark Scroggins; three siblings, Jennifer (Terry) Wilhite, Springfield, Ill., Tom Cagle, Montgomery, Ala., and Sam (Barbara) Cagle, Lacey, Wash .; mother-in-law, Laura Creech, Alton; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, David Scroggins; and step-father-in-law, Harold Creech. Friends may call on Friday, July 5, 2024 at Kravanya Funeral Home in Bunker Hill from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A memorial service will be on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church in Bunker Hill. Kravanya Funeral Home of Bunker Hill is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials are suggested to Alton Special Education or the First Congregational Church.
