Koniak

Naomi "Darlene" Koniak, 89, of Benld, passed away, on Thursday, June 27, 2024. She was born Sept. 14, 1934, in Hillsboro, Ill., the daughter of Charles King. She married Eugene Alfred Koniak and he survives.

Naomi owned and operated Gene's Archery and Bar along with her husband. She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing and reading books.

She is survived by her spouse, Eugene "Gene" Koniak; two children, Sue Ann Koniak, Portland, Ore., and Michael Eugene Koniak, Benld; grandchild, Jacob (Ashley) Koniak; and two great-grandchildren, Allyson and Madelyn. Naomi was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, and two brothers.

A prayer service was held Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at Kravanya Funeral Home in Benld. A Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at St. Joseph's Church in Benld. Internment will follow at the Benld Cemetery in Benld. Kravanya Funeral Home, of Benld is in charge of the arrangements.
