Robert Randall "Bert" Klaus, 66, of Carlinville, Ill., died on Monday, June 24, 2024. He was born Sept. 5, 1957, in Carlinville the son to William and Dolores (Kancianich) Klaus and they preceded him in death. He married Teresa (Boston) Klaus on June 27, 1987 in Carlinville and she survives.

He was a coal miner. He was also a Correctional Officer for the Macoupin County Sheriff's Department. Robert enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and bird watching.

He is survived by his sons, Matthew Klaus, Chatham and Nathan Klaus, Carlinville; siblings William (Beverly) Klaus, Carlinville, Jonathan (Sara) Klaus, Carlinville, and Kathy (Joe) Bernardini, Parker, Colo.
