Carl William Brase Jr., 97, of Parkville, Mo., died peacefully in his sleep Thursday, June 27, 2024. He was born in Edwardsville, Ill., the son of Carl W. Brase Sr. and Clara L. Brase, and they preceded him in death. Carl married his wife of 56 years, Joann Brase, and she preceded him in death.
Carl worked for many years at the Shell Oil Refinery in Roxana, Il, now Phillips 66 Refinery. He loved to golf, travel, and play with his HAM Radio- that is before playing with his grandchildren took too much of his time.
He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Walter Brase and Arlyn (Carole) Brase. He is survived by one daughter, Rebecca Ruth Butler (Gareld), Parkville, Mo., grandsons, Kyle (Katie Trinter) and Mark; great-grandsons, Jonah and Gabe; siblings, Douglas (Pauline) Brase, Marilyn Williams, and Merlin (Mary) Brase, and many brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 6. at Kirkwood UMC located at 201 W. Adams in Kirkwood, Mo. at 11 a.m.
