Homecoming Parade

On Saturday, June 29, Staunton's 83rd Annual Volunteer Fire Department's parade was led by the Staunton Police Department, the Staunton Fire Department and Staunton Area Ambulance.

Spirits were extremely high, in large part due to the beautiful weather leading up to the parade. But the little ones were able to get an earlier start to the day on the rides that were set-up at Staunton's Recreational Park. The parade began at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and went down the length of Main Street. Then, just as Friday was scheduled, the band Klose Kuarters, was set to start playing live music at 7 p.m.

The community showed out in a tremendous way and the City of Staunton and its community should be proud of the turnout for the Volunteer Fire Department's fundraiser in Staunton.

Staunton Fire Protection District volunteers are in need of constant support and assistance from local residents in order to continue to provide high quality services to the residents of the area.

Residents can support the local fire department financially by supporting any SFPD related tax referendum and by supporting their fundraising activities, the annual homecoming celebration, golf tournament, and pork steak dinner.

Local residents are encouraged to consider becoming an SFPD volunteer support services to the department operations.

Consider sharing how much you appreciate the volunteer fire fighters, a few kind words go a long way. The firefighters sacrifice a lot or their time to make the community a safer place to live. A word of thanks, a kind word on a job well done, is always appreciated.
