Christine M. Wasylenko, 54, of Gillespie, died at her residence on Thursday, June 20, 2024. She was born Dec. 26, 1969 the daughter of Dusty Roger VanHuss and Rose (Matthews) VanHuss and they preceded her in death.
She married Edward R. Wasylenko of Gillespie, on Feb. 25, 1989 in St. Louis, Mo., and he survives. She was a homemaker. Christine loved her family and enjoyed watching her granddaughter play sports.
She is survived by her two children, Elizabeth (significant other, Conner Pollard) Wasylenko, Gillespie, and Edward R. Wasylenko, Gillespie; granddaughter, Emilee Wendling, Gillespie; brother, Billy VanHuss, Marissa, Ill .; and nephew, Arron VanHuss, Marissa. Christine was preceded in death by her brother in infancy.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Kravanya Funeral Home of Gillespie is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials are suggested to wishes of the family.
