McKechan

Douglas Bruce McKechan, 65, of St. Louis, Mo., died in Gillespie, Ill., on Saturday, June 15, 2024. He was born May 16, 1959, in Waukegan, Ill., the son of Robert Bruce McKechan and Margaret (Pavlik) McKechan and they preceded him in death.

Douglas was an attorney and he married Valerie Rene (Prince) McKechan of St. Louis, Mo., on May 20, 2000 in St. Louis, Mo.

He is survived by his spouse, Valerie McKechan; daughter, Chelsea Cottingham, Maryville, Ill .; grandchild, Oliver; and two siblings, Cathy (Ken) Largio and Robin Smith, both reside in Gillespie.

Visitation and Funeral services were held on Monday, June 24, 2024 at SS Simon and Jude Church in Gillespie. A memorial mass followed the services at the church and interment was held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Gillespie. Kravanya Funeral Home of Gillespie was in charge of the arrangements.
