Joyce Marcuzzo, 90, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Glenwood Assisted Living in Staunton, Ill. at 8:47 a.m. She was surrounded by her loving children, Mark, Jane, and Cindy.

Joyce was born on March 7, 1934 and had lived ninety wonderful years. She was born in Mt. Olive Ill. but was raised in Staunton, Ill. She married the love of her life, Bill Marcuzzo in 1955 and were married for 53 years when he preceded her in death in 2008.

Joyce was a homemaker. Joyce entered the workforce in the seventies and loved her jobs working for Dr. Pineda, Dr. Chulick, and Dr. Kevin Kays. Her relationships with her bosses and their patients were very special, and Joyce loved every minute of it. However, what she loved most was music and golf. She sang in the St. Michael’s Choir for years and participated in the Christmas Concert at St. Paul United Church of Christ every year. Golf was her passion. She was a member of the Staunton Country Club and The Ladies Golf Association. She loved going on golf trips with her husband Bill to many destinations. She had 14 Hole-in-ones! After Bill’s death she enjoyed spending her winters in Destin, Fla. with close friends.

She is survived by her three children, Cindy Baker (Casey Williams) of Milan, Mo., Mark (Maryann) Marcuzzo of St. Louis, Mo., and Jane (Steve) Woll of Hamel; seven grand children, Ryan Marcuzzo, Lindsey Zeller, Sydney Woll, Megan (Blake) Conway; three great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Bill Marcuzzo Jr .; one brother, Vernon Striegel; and one sister, Carol Schulmeister.

Services were held on Monday, June 24, 2024, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Staunton with Father Tom Hagstrom officiating. Internment was held at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Livingston, Ill.

Memorials are suggested to the Staunton Country Club, St. Michael’s Catholic Church, or to the Staunton Education Foundation.
