Senior Citizens Meeting

All senior citizens that are 55 years of age and older may join Staunton's senior citizens on the first and third Thursday of each month.

With 24 people in attendance, the June 20, 2024 meeting was called to order by President Geri Cook at 12:30 p.m The Lord's Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance followed. At the meeting, there were no visitors or new members.

A card request was made for another individual. The members started by enjoying their luncheon and everyone enjoyed the meal.

The attendance prizes were won by Sherry Loots and Marlene Boston. The pots of silver went to Sherry Loots and Dee Masinelli. Other prizes from drawings went to Barb Coalson, Mary Lyons, Myron Hofftstetler, Ruth Kilduff, Marlene Boston and Margaret Heinemeyer.

Regarding business for the next meeting on July 11, 2024, club officer elections will be held and a free card for those wearing patriotic colors will be due because of the Fourth of July. Staunton's senior citizens will be holding their business meeting on July 11 and their second meeting will be the following week on July 18.

Bingo was called by Executive Director of Cedarhurst Assisted Living and Memory Care in Bethalto, Leslie Vannoy. The next meeting of the Staunton senior citizens on July 11, 2024 will be at St. Paul's Christian Church located at 225 S. Laurel St., in Staunton.
