License plate readers lead to identification in more than 80 percent of interstate shootings
In 82 percent of interstate shootings this year, automated license plate readers (ALPRs) have helped Illinois State Police (ISP) identify an individual involved in or who witnessed the shooting. That jumps to 100 percent for fatal interstate shootings.
