Maleri

Marian Maleri, 81, passed away on June 8, 2024, in Olney, Ill., from complications associated with Alzheimer's disease. She was born in Livingston, Ill., the daughter of George and Josephine (Larcker) Augustine and they preceded her in death.

Marian married Richard Maleri on Nov. 28, 1964, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Livingston and he preceded her in death. Marian’s first priority was always her husband and family.

Marian graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1964 and for a short time was an Elementary Teacher before becoming owner and operator of Bower’s Drug Store and Rich’s Hallmark Store. Her personality and wit made her a joy to be around and those who knew her were fortunate. She adored her six grandchildren. People will remember Marian as a kind and selfless soul whom was always willing to help those in need. She was loving, generous, fun, and tough as nails. She will be sadly missed.

She is survived by her son, Curt Maleri, Denver, Colo.; two daughters, Lori (Greg) Potter and Anne (Seth) Rickert; six grandchildren, Meghan and Nicholas Maleri, Denver, Colo, Evan and Josie Potter, O’Fallon, Ill., and Aaron and Jack Rickert Olney, Ill.; and two sisters, Lucille (Joe) Little, Gainesville, Fla., and Carole (Jeff) Wohlford, Edwardsville, Ill.

Visitation services for friends and family will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney. Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home of Olney is in charge of arrangements. Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
