(Heyen) Hauschild of Gillespie, Ill., and they preceded him in death. He was married to his beloved wife of 65 years, Nancy (Kammerdiener) Hauschild. She was his constant companion and she survives.

In 1970, Clarence started Hauschild Construction, building bridges and freeways in California and providing important earthquake retrofits to these structures for almost 30 years. He often had a book in one hand, a crossword puzzle in the other, and his cell phone at-the-ready to tackle multiple opponents in the game, Words with Friends.
