The Staunton Unit Schools were awarded the Bright Star award based on test scores and operating expenditures.

Concordia Hall hosted a two-day entertainment event and collected $5,754.25 for the Staunton Food Pantry.

Macoupin County Coroner Charlie Landers announced his retirement effective June 30.
