Bogue

James Richard Bogue, 81, of Gillespie, died at Carlinville Area Hospital in Carlinville on Monday, June 3, 2024. James was born May 27, 1943. He married Carolyn E. (Mills) Bogue of Gillespie on Sept. 20, 2015 and she survives.

James was a veteran of the U.S. Army. After service, he was a glass factory worker. He was also a member of the Church of Nazarene in Virden. He enjoyed working with his hands and tools.

He is survived by his five children, Cathy (Randy) Miller, Taylorville, Ill., Ruth Childers, Carlinville, Daniel Davis, Carlinville, Roy Davis, Carlinville, and James Davis, Carlinville; ten grandchildren, Michelle, Ramey, Sheri, Kerensa, Lisa, Lacey, Lindsey, Airani, Harley, and Jenni; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. James was preceded in death by his first wife, Freida Bogue.

Visitation was held on June 10, 2024 at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie and Funeral services followed. Graveside services were held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, Ill. Kravanya Funeral Home of Gillespie was in charge of the arrangements.
