James Richard Bogue, 81, of Gillespie, died at Carlinville Area Hospital in Carlinville on Monday, June 3, 2024. James was born May 27, 1943. He married Carolyn E. (Mills) Bogue of Gillespie on Sept. 20, 2015 and she survives.

James was a veteran of the U.S. Army. After service, he was a glass factory worker. He was also a member of the Church of Nazarene in Virden. He enjoyed working with his hands and tools.

He is survived by his five children, Cathy (Randy) Miller, Taylorville, Ill., Ruth Childers, Carlinville, Daniel Davis, Carlinville, Roy Davis, Carlinville, and James Davis, Carlinville;...
