Album Of The Week: Buffalo Springfield's, Retrospective: The Best Of Buffalo Springfield

Buffalo Springfield's, Retrospective: The Best of Buffalo Springfield, is a compilation album that was released in Feb. of 1969 after the band, disbanded in the middle of 1968. The band took their name from a steamroller parked outside their house.

Buffalo Springfield was comprised of five main members: Neil Young, Bruce Palmer, Dewey Martin, Stephen Stills, and Richie Furay. Their music combined elements of folk and country music with influences from the U.K. Invasion and psychedelic rock.

The British Invasion was a cultural phenomenon of the mid-1960's, when rock and pop music acts from the U.K. and other aspects of British culture became popular in the U.S. with significant influence on the rise of counterculture.
