A ground-breaking ceremony was held for the new addition to the Staunton Public Library.

Eudora M. (Dorie) Moggio (78) of Edwardsville, formerly of Livingston, died May 23 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
Johnnie R. Eller (79) of Jerseyville, formerly of Staunton, died May 17 at Jerseyville Manor in Jerseyville.
Billie L. (Lee) Row (66) of Livingston died May 19 at Belleville Memorial Hospital.
Norine Lind Morrison (94) of Plainview died May 19 at her residence.
LaVonne Annette Pirok (63) of rural Worden, formerly of Staunton, died May 23 at her home.
Pete D. Spudich (88) of New Douglas died May 17 at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield.
Maria Laucis (73) of Mt. Olive died May 20 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis.
Sharon Lynn Peters(50) of Pacific, Mo., formerly of Mt. Olive, died May 21 at Pacific.
David Oliver “Bubba” Harbaugh (51) of Mt. Clare died May 22 at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis.

Citizens National Bank, who until Jan. 1 had a branch in Staunton, was shut down on Friday. The bank is now in receivership under the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., and its assets are being transferred to Morton Community Bank in Morton.
Rev. Nathan Meador, who will soon be leaving Zion Lutheran Church to pastor a church in Wisconsin, delivered the address at the Memorial Day services held in Staunton on Monday.
