Staunton Students Receive Bob Price Scholarship

The Bob Price Memorial Scholarship awarded nine $1000 scholarships to students in Staunton (2), North Greene (1), Litchfield (1), Raymond (1), Jerseyville (1), and Father McGivney Catholic High School(1), and Southwestern (2) The scholarship is in memory of Master Sergeant Price and a way to continue his legacy of serving others by helping students fulfill their career dreams. Staunton recipients are Cole Sternickle and Sarah Wright. Cole plans to attend Lewis and Clark Community College and study criminal justice. Cole is the son of Erin and Jason Sternickle. Sarah plans to attend Indiana University and study forensic science. Sarah is the daughter of Michele and Adam Wright.

The scholarship is available annually to graduating high school seniors in the five counties of Illinois State Police District #18 (Calhoun, Greene, Jersey, Macoupin and Montgomery)

In the past eleven years that the scholarship has been available, eighty scholarships have been awarded.
