Published in the Interest of the Staunton Community for Over 143 Years
The Silver Medallion Academic Excellence Awards Banquet held annually since 1988 honors graduating high school seniors who have attained the highest standing in their classes. This is to serve as a means of encouraging all students to strive for high academic achievement and excellence through scholarship.
The event was held on April 11, 2024 in the George C. Terry Riverbend Arena on Lewis and Clark Community College Campus.
Twenty-three schools participated in the awards ceremony this year. The students recognized from each school will include those who rank in the top eight percent of their graduating class.
The two students that were recognized at Mt. Olive High School seniors, Tyler Hayes and Bethany Dixon.
