Marilyn Frances Williams, 81, of Gillespie, died at St. John's Hospital in Springfield on Friday, March 22, 2024. She was born March 19, 1943, in Gillespie the daughter of the late Robert M. Reid and Elizabeth Hendren Reid.

Marilyn was a graduate of St. John's Hospital School of Nursing in St. Louis and she was a registered nurse for home health. She loved science, animals, especially dogs, and enjoyed animal documentaries.

She is survived by her daughter, Tracey (Kevin) Kreipe of Thayer, Ill .; three grandchildren, Elizabeth (Bennett) Smith, Nolan (Zoe) Kreipe, and Colin Kreipe; great-grandchild, Elliott Smith; and special friend, Jack Matlack. Marilyn was preceded in death by her four brothers, Robert, James, William and John.

Visitation and memorial services were on March 29, 2024 at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie. Kravanya Funeral Home of Gillespie was in charge of the arrangements.
