Worden Public Library in April

Our next children’s program will be held on Saturday, April 20, at 10:00 a.m. The featured book, The Fox Went Out on a Chilly Night, written and illustrated by Peter Spier, is based on a old folk song, and tells the humorous tale of a dashing fox who nabs a goose and duck from a farmer, then returns to his “cozy den,” where he and his large family enjoy a fine supper. When Peter Spier first drew and painted the pictures for this book in 1961, the state of printing books was such that only half of the pictures could be reproduced in color. In 2014, Spier was able to turn his books illustrations all to color. Children who come to the program will make simple origami foxes to take home.

Tax season is here. If anyone needs a free copy of their returns, or is looking for a specific tax form, Worden public library can help. Worden Public Library will provide up to ten free copies of forms and returns. After that, there is a charge of 25 cents per copy.

The Worden Library Book Club will next convene on Monday, April 29, at 10 a.m. As always, everyone is invited. Please bring any book you would like to discuss. Free cookies will be provided.

The next total eclipse is fast approaching and will be visible in this area. To view the eclipse safely, you need special sun shades to protect your eyes from solar radiation. Worden Public Library has special sun shades available for free from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. The Eclipse will take place on April 8.
