Brown

Beverly Kay Brown, 82, of Gillespie, died at Gillespie Health and Rehab Center in Gillespie on Friday, March 8, 2024. She was born Oct. 4, 1941 in Litchfield the daughter to the late Mario Meldi and Opal (Olston) Meldi.

She married Bob Brown, of Gillespie on Oct. 30, 1976 and he survives. She had worked for the State of Illinois in title transferring and data processing. Beverly enjoyed reading and was an avid reader of People's Magazine.

She is survived by her six children, Joell (Sid) Flyte, Edwardsville, Jackie (Larry) Fear, The Villages, Fla., Kathleen Brown, Kimberly Brown, Lavona Brown, and Lori Brown; five grandchildren, Breanna Leake, O'Fallon, Mo., Dominique Flyte, Alexandria, Va., Addie Flyte, Raleigh, N.C., Bradley Fear, Cabot, Ariz., and David Fear, Cabot, Ariz .; and sibling, Ron (Corky) Meldi, Nitro, W. Va .; and many great-grandchildren.

Friends may call on Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie. Interment will be at Benld Cemetery. Kravanya Funeral Home of Gillespie is in charge of the arrangements.
