Harriet Romain Grimes, 94, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024 in Litchfield.
Harriet was born May 21, 1929 in Litchfield to the late James and Corita (Johnson) Goodman. She married her first husband August “Tuney” Steinbach on Jan. 6, 1951 amd Tuney preceded her in death on Jan. 30, 1977. Harriet married Richard "Dick" Grimes on April 24, 1982 and they loved to travel and were members of the White City Motorcycle Club.Dick preceded her in death on Jan. 2, 2019.
After high school, Harriet worked at Scheer Truck Stop on Route 66 as a waitress. She was a lifelong member of Mount Olive United Methodist Church.
Harriet is survived by her brother, Roger (Carol) Goodman; two sisters-in-law, Verna Goodman and Susan Goodman; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Harriet was preceded in death by her son, Michael Steinbach; three brothers, James Goodman, John Goodman, and Steve Goodman; and one sister, Marilyn Goodman.
Visitation is Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Olive. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Don Dexheimer officiating. Becker and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
