Blotevogel

Edward “Eddie” Blotevogel, 91, of Worden, died on Feb. 12, 2024, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville. He was born on Oct. 14, 1932 in Worden the son to father, Edward Blotevogel and mother, Dorothea Finke.

Eddie served his country as a clerk in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge he worked as the sexton for the village of Worden and was the Building and Groundskeeper for Trinity Lutheran Church, Parish Hall, and School for over 50 years.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Worden, Worden American Legion Post No. 564, a retired member of Worden Volunteer Fire Department, and a past member of Worden Sportsman’s Club and Worden Lions Club.

He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Laura Blotevogel; and nephew, Rob Blotevogel. He is survived by a brother, Dan Blotevogel of Worden; nephew, Scott (Kathy) Blotevogel of Worden; and great nephew, Daniel Blotevogel of Worden.

Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 24 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Worden and the memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Heath Curtis officiating.

The Staunton Military Honor Guard and Worden American Legion Post No. 3564 will conduct military rites at church following the memorial service. Williamson Funeral Home of Staunton is in charge of the arrangements.
