Stiegemeier

Bernice O. Stiegemeier, 97, of Staunton, died at Staunton Health and Rehab Center in Staunton on Feb. 3, 2024. She was born May 7, 1926 in Staunton to Fred Hefer and Emma (Walker) Mueller and they preceded her in death.

She had married Billy Stiegemeier on Sept. 13, 1947 at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Staunton and he preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, St Paul Women’s Fellowship, Staunton Junior Service Club, Staunton VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Volunteer at His Service Station in Staunton, Concordia Ladies of Staunton, and Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by two sons, Craig (Barbara) Stiegemeier of St. Charles, Mo. and Dennis (Sarah) Stiegemeier of Staunton; five grandchildren, Drew (Sandra) Stiegemeier of Staunton, Douglas (Alex) Stiegemeier of Atlanta, Ga., Billy (Kathryn) Stiegemeier of Troy, Maggie (Andy) Griesbaum of St. Louis, Mo., and Charles (Megan) Stiegemeier of Omaha, Neb .; eight great -grandchildren, Griffin, Adele, Benjamin, Samuel, Aiden, Blair, Abraham, and Florence; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Friends may call on Saturday, Feb. 17 from 9 to 11 a.m. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Staunton. Interment will follow the service at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton. Rev. Jeremy Wood will be officiating and Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
