Heck

Betty E. Heck, 89, of Gillespie, died on Feb. 3, 2024. She was born Oct. 29, 1934, in Gillespie to the late James Orville Kelly and Celia (Dillon) Kelly. Betty was a homemaker that enjoyed babysitting, going out to eat and playing cards. Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennie Heck; granddaughter, Holly Heck; siblings, John Kelly, Bill Kelly, Junior Kelly, Ellen Clemonds, Arlene Griva, and Edna Audi. She is survived by her children, John R. (companion, Pamela Maxvill) Heck, Lelia L. Bertolis of Benld, and Roberta Haislip of Missouri; siblings, Joe Kelly of Gillespie, Jim (Karen) Kelly of Benld, Doris Donaldson of Gillespie, Freida Malloy of Carlinville, Marjorie Taylor of Benld, and Mary Lou Jubelt of Gillespie; 12 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. Visitation and Funeral services were held on Feb. 8, 2024 at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie and interment followed at the Gillespie Cemetery in Gillespie. Kravanya Funeral Home of Gillespie was in charge of the arrangements.
