Jered R. Carlen, (39), of Worden, committed the Class four felony offense of unlawful possession and use of a debit card of another on Dec. 14, 2023. Said defendant obtained more than $150 in goods within a 90-day period through transactions at seven locations.
Shane A. Smith, (48), of Girard, committed the Class three felony of aggravated battery with the use of a deadly weapon on Dec. 21, 2023, being a hammer, to strike a victim on the head.
Daniel J. Ballowe, (54), of Litchfield, committed two counts of felony offenses that both occurred on July 22, 2023: Count one is a Class two felony offense of theft having a total value of more than $500 but less than $10,000, in that said defendant knowingly exerted unauthorized control of air conditioner unit parts depriving Gillespie’s School District of the benefit of said property; Count two is a Class three felony for criminal damage to government property, being the removal of internal parts from said air conditioning units, rendering them inoperable.
Matthew D. Allen, (43), of Gillespie, committed the Class four felony offense of the known and unlawful possession of a controlled substance, being a substance containing clonazepam on Oct. 20, 2023.
Cesar A. Hernandez Ortiz, (35), of Aurora, Mo., was charged with the Class four felony for knowingly and unlawfully possessing a substance containing cocaine on Oct. 21, 2023.
Traver J. Coleman, (40), of Divernon, Ill., committed the Class four felony offense of aggravated fleeing and the disobedience of two or more official traffic control devices on Jan. 17, 2024. Said defendant drove a red 2003 Mini Cooper and having been given a visual or audible signal by a peace officer directing said driver to bring his vehicle to a stop, he failed or refused to obey such direction. This resulted in the disobedience of two or more stop signs.
Michael L. Ridenhour, (44), of Gillespie, was charged with the violation of an Emergency Order of Protection in Macoupin County on Jan. 15, 2024. After having been served with notice of said Emergency Order of Protection, said defendant made contact with the protected party via phone call.
DUI
Darren M. Edwards, (33), of Carlinville, was ticketed with two counts of driving under the influence, in that said defendant was driving a blue 2003 Chevrolet passenger car while under the influence on W. 2nd South and S. Broad Streets located in rural Carlinville on Jan. 12, 2024 at 1:50 a.m.
Candice C. Conlee, (26), of Carlinville, was ticketed with two counts of driving under the influence, in that said defendant was driving a black 2010 Cadillac passenger car while under the influence on S. Broad and Hachn Streets located in rural Carlinville on Jan. 9, 2024 at 9:54 p.m.
