Senior citizens meeting

All seniors 55 and older are welcomed to join the Senior Citizens Meeting on the first and third Thursday of each month.

The Feb. 1, 2024 meeting was called to order by President, Gerri Cook at 1. There were 22 people attending including one visitor, Lori Oscar. The meeting started with the Lord’s Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance being said. There were three members acknowledged who were out due to health issues.

There was no old business. Next meeting on Feb. 15, 2024, members are asked to dress for Valentines Day and will get a free bingo card. Dennis Williams volunteered to bring food for that day. Attendance prizes went to Myron Hoffstetler and Benadette Banovz. Pots of Silver were awarded to Margaret Heinemeyer and Shirley Copeland. There were quite a few prizes from ticket numbers called. Winners were Loris Oscar, Dee Masinelli, Dennis Williams, Bernadette Banovz, Toni Janus, Mary Lyons, Joanne Brakhane, Judy Hampton, Nancy Johns, Carolyn Strasson and Ruth Kildoff.

The meeting was adjourned and everyone enjoyed playing bingo. Leslie Vannoy, Executive Director of Cedarhurst Assisted Living and Memory Care in Bethalto called the bingo numbers. The next meeting will be at St. Paul’s Christian Church at 225 S. Laurel St. in Staunton.
