Leichsenring

Lloyd D. Leichsenring, 80 of Edwardsville, died at his residence in Edwardsville on Jan. 15, 2024, He was born on Saturday, April 3, 1943, in Hamel, the son of Gustav and Irma (nee Rotenburg) Leichsenring.

Born and raised in Hamel, he graduated from Edwardsville High School. He served with the US Air Force, from Feb 1962 to Feb 1966, active duty during the Vietnam War. He worked 30 plus years as a machinist at Mc Donnell Douglas Corp., St. Louis. He lived most of his life in Edwardsville. He enjoyed racing cars and was a car enthusiast. He and his brother had a cabin on the Illinois river, where they enjoyed the outdoors and boating.

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Hamel and International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers (58 plus years member).

Survivors include: sister-in-law, Heiderose "Heide" Leichsenring, Hamel; nephews, Michael J. (Lana) Leichsenring, Staunton, Terry L. (Sharon) Leichsenring, New Douglas, and Tommy G. (Dawn) Leichsenring, Worden; niece, Christol L. (Darren) Heberer, Hamel.

He was preceded in death by: parents, Gustav F. and Irma E. Leichsenring, nee Rotenburg; and a brother, Jerald D. Leichsenring.

Arrangements are being handled by Dauderman Mortuary in Hamel.

Visitation was held on Jan. 23, 2024, at Dauderman Mortuary in Hamel and the funeral service followed with Rev. William Gleason, Assistant Pastor, St. Paul Lutheran Church, officiating.

Interment will be at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Hamel.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
