Chura

Joyree H. Chura, 62, of Edwardsville, passed away at her residence in Edwardsville on Jan. 17, 2024. She was born Feb. 19, 1961 in Staunton, the daughter of the late Harry and Louise (Tagnani) Chura. She married Bradley Allen on Oct. 6, 2000 in Edwardsville and he survives.

Joyree worked at SIU-Edwardsville for 30 years, most recently as an H/R Manager, and later worked part-time at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Edwardsville. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church of Edwardsville and played in the Handbell Choir at St. Boniface Church.

She is survived by one sister, Marthee (Tom) Rizzi of Staunton; and four nephews also survive.

Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m.on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2024 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Edwardsville. A Memorial Mass will follow at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2024 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Edwardsville with Father Jeffrey Goeckner officiating. Private interment will be held at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton. Williamson Funeral Home, of Staunton is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials are suggested to either the Staunton Education Foundation, St. Boniface Catholic Church of Edwardsville, or to St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Edwardsville.
