'Letters to the Editor' policy

We always welcome – even encourage – letters to the editor. A community newspaper is dependant on interaction with the community and its residents. However, in order to be published, there are procedures that must be followed.

Rule #1 - It must be signed! No letter - no matter what it contains, will be considered for publication without your written signature. If you choose to e-mail a letter to the editor, it must contain a phone number for verification. Also, if the letter is mailed and not signed in our presence, please include your phone number for verification. Please feel free to call our office for clarification or questions at (618) 594-1223.

We are always happy to hear from our readers, whether by letter, phone or e-mail. If you wish to inform us of a situation or just have a question, you are welcome to write and stipulate that the letter is not for publication. In that case, your anonymity would always be protected.

Send your comments/questions to Staunton Star-Times, P.O. Box 180, Staunton, IL 62088.

The opinions expressed in Letters to the Editor do not necessarily reflect the views of the Star-Times.
