Floriene Fortuna, 99, of Staunton, died at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill. on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024. She was born on March 1, 1924 in Livingston the daughter to the late Leslie and Josie (Scanzoni) Lovejoy.
She married Dominic Fortuna in June of 1945 and he preceded her in death on Jan. 13, 1978.
Floriene was a She was a graduate of Livingston High School and the of the Gradwal Laboratory School of Science in St. Louis, Mo..
Lab Technician Sypervisor at Community Memorial Hospital in STaunton for many years. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Staunton, past member of Staunton Country Club, a past member of Staunton Junior Service Club, and a past member of Staunton VFW Post #1241 Ladies Auxiliary.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceeded in death by one sister, Shirley Lotter. She is survived by two daughters, Ann (Larry) Hall and Mary Jo (Thomas) Kuehl; two grandchildren, Amy (Doug) Paris and Matthew Kuehl; five great-grandchildren, Samantha Pointon, Emily Pointon, Jonathan Pointon, Zachary Paris, and Oliver Kuehl; one sister-in-law, Violet Ziglar of Staunton; one niece, Jane (Cliff) Homeier of Staunton; and nephew, Fred (Gina) Lotter of Staunton.
There are no services scheduled and a private interment will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton at a later date. Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
