Klaustermeier

Lisbeth “Liz” A. (Dressen) Klaustermeier, 68, of Benld, passed away at St. John's Hospital in Springfield on Dec. 22, 2023, with her loving husband by her side.

Liz was born Oct. 16, 1955, in Hillsboro to Robert Dressen and Jean (Laws) Dressen. Liz married James “Jim” C. Klaustermeier on March 17, 1978 at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield.

She graduated from Litchfield High School in the class of 1973 and attended SIU of Edwardsville. They lived in St. Petersburg, Fla. for 28 years before moving to Benld. Liz loved working on the beach at The Miramar hotel while in Florida and then worked for various law firms after they moved to Benld to be near family and friends. Liz volunteered at Benld’s Adopt-A-Pet and she enjoyed painting, puzzles, gardening and her animals.

Liz was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Jean Dressen; step-son, Jeff Klaustermeier; father and mother-in-law, Vernon and Dorothy Klaustermeier; brother-in-law, Vernon Klaustermeier Jr .; and nephew, James D. Dressen.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, James Klaustermeier; two step-sons, Brad (Carla) Klaustermeier and Eric (Karen) Parks; two brothers, Dr. Fred (Joni) Dressen and Doug (Karyl) Dressen; two sisters, Nancy (Don) Dressen - Krefft and Caroline (Gary) Thompson; five grandchildren, Zachary, Kaylee, Keaton, Cole, and Robert; great-granddaughter, Tatum; and many in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date and memorials should be made to the family. Kravanya Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
