Phillip Jeremy Fowler, 45, of Ottawa, Ill., passed away at OSF Health Center in Alton, on Monday, Dec. 18, 2023.
He was born on Aug. 7, 1978, in Alton the son of James E. Fowler and Kathy (Nodine) Fowler. Phillip married his wife, Kristi Hunt on June 14, 1997, in Alton and he is survived by his wife.
He served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps and he was the Harbormaster at Heritage Harbor Marina in Ottawa. Because of him, Heritage Harbor Ottawa was Elite Fleet status for four of the last five years (excluding 2020 for COVID-19). Phillip was a loving and devoted son, husband, and father, as well as a mentor to anybody who welcomed his knowledge.
He was a jack of all trades, with many certifications and licenses, including an electrician’s license, captain’s license, Certified Marina Management certification, he was also on the Ottawa Flood Commission. He was an animal lover of all kinds, but especially to his pups, Piper and Pixie. His passing has left a large hole in the world.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jason Fowler; grandfather, Loren Nodine; uncle, Larry Nodine; and step-father, Keith Stecher.
Jeremy is survived by his parents, James and Kathy Fowler; three children, Alex (Abbie) Fowler of Shipman, Jacob Fowler of Earlville, and nephew who he raised as a son, David (Stephanie) Wells of Cheyenne, Wyo .; grandmother, Joyce McCombs; brother, James (Jessica) Fowler; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation was at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Brighton until the time of the memorial service that was on Dec. 30, 2023, at Anderson's Family Funeral Home in Brighton.
