Fenton

Mary Kathryn Fenton, 88, of Carlinville, died at LakeSide Health and Rehab Center in Carlinville on Dec. 21, 2023. She was born June 3, 1935, in Albion, Ill. to the late Gilfred Roosevelt and Mary (Stanley) Roosevelt.

She married James H. Fenton on Feb. 6, 1960 in Wilmington, Ill and James preceded her in death on March 27, 2017.

Mary was a graduate of Eastern Illinois University and she was a retired teacher for Girard High School. She was also an Avon Sales Rep and worked at Carlinville Library.

Mary was preceded in death by her great-grandson, Parker Fenton; sister, Wanda Ackerman; brothers, George Roosevelt and Wilbur Roosevelt.

She is survived by her two children and their spouses, Eric (Judy) Fenton of Carlinville and Jeff (Maria) Fenton of Bradley, Ill .; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Stephen (Kristy) Fenton, Daniel Fenton, Michael (Melissa) Fenton, Alex Fenton, Christy (Bob) Hillis, Patrick (Rachel) Greer, and Anna (Chuck) Kamp; 14 great-grandchildren, Lexi, Oliver, Blair, Amelia, Avery, Megan, Tim, Sarah, Samantha, Austin, Kannon, Katherine, Karlton, and Kole; three great-great-grandchildren, Peyton, Paxton, and Ophelia; two nieces, Ava and Rita; and four nephews, Greg, Dan, Mark, and Dean.

Friends may call on Monday, Jan. 8, 2024 at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Memorial services will follow at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie at 7 p.m. Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie is in charge of the arrangements.
